Hey Louie I haven't heard much about Trinity lake since july when I was up there, I use a wooly bugger on a 600 grain head to get it down ....takes patients waiting for the bug to hit bottom.
If you choose other methods I would suggest live crickets using a drop shot method or gitzits.
If you want to troll for trout hit the river inlets with rappalas,,,the trout should be near the surface and the bass down 20 - 30 ft.
Lewiston lake is like the midge capital but that can be boring so I prefer to toss buggers or leach patterns fish can also be had with calibeatis patterns...or troll with a flaher / super duper and a little piece of worm or a little cleo
