The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

A buddy presented to me his dilemma: the valve on his Wood River float tube or U boat is missing. It is not the typical tire valve, but rather something else. Anyone familiar with this product will know what I am talking about. I am assuming that this company went out of business, so it would be difficult to get a replacement part. Anybody have a solution or source for replacement part to this problem as the fellow prefers to fish this tube over his donut style float tube?

what part is it? The cap?

Yeah, Paul, it must be the cap. There is no valve to stop the escape of air after it is pumped up. I could not see any threads on the inside to hold a valve anyway. Was there just a cap or was there a one way valve below the cap? If it is just the cap, I think we can fix that if we can locate a cap, unless you have a solution for the valve also. If it starts leaking, I just don't want to have to come to his rescue, if the fish are cooperating. Perhaps I'll loan him a PFD
