Thanks for the report Jarrett. For perspective, I had similar luck in the afternoon but further down the I-80 corridor. The wind was ripping through the stretch I was on and it never really warmed up. I went the streamer route instead of nymphing. Had 1 solid take on an bugger (olive, gold beadhead, black tail), but I failed to hook it up. My favorite streamer this season has been a gold/grizzly rabbit varient streamer with a thin gold tinsel down each side, but my box didn't provide like it should have.... dumb fly box not retrieving the broken off flies. Afterward, just as the shadows started to stretch I was able to get a couple small rainbows on a #16 grey quigleys type emerger after seeing some boils. I'd been doing well lower in NV with a small simple palmered dry (scruffy firey brown dub with furnace hackle) that sort of works for an ant or small mahogany, but it didn't come through for me today.
