Hey all you idiots,
Got news today that the lodge and several cabins at Kennedy Meadows burned down. We had recommended the place to some friends, who promptly booked a few days for the last week of the season--this week. They drove up Monday morning to find ashes where the lodge once was, still smoldering.
Anyway, that set me to thinking about the NCFFB, so here I am.
Haven't fished in ages... "maybe next year" as the old refrain goes. Blew my knee out earlier this year (ACL--bye bye), but I'll probably have it fixed next year. Still able to get around to work & such, and I've done a few hikes. Given that I'm on rooftops every day, I must say my ACL-deficient knee performs surprisingly well.
Poked around the site a bit, and it looks good... though I must say the fishing locales are gettin' mighty exotic. Sorry to hear about Hud, he was truly a man with a big heart. Glad to see that list isn't longer, tho.
Happy and humbled to see one of my posts in the classics... I hope what I wrote there about this board is still accurate.
Anyway, sorry for another hit-n-run post... at least I space them a couple of years apart. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to pull up a log and stay for awhile. Maybe even before I retire...
To Hud; to Kennedy Meadows; to the NCFFB: Cheers! *raises rootbeer*
(apologies to Carpy)
