OK, there's been some talk about having a some sort of fall bash, or gathering. I think we should do it, even if only a handful of folks show up.
So, since someone has to get the ball rolling and since fall is just around the corner, I propose we "count noses" and get a preliminary idea of who would actually be interested and likely show up, at which location, and which weekend.
I propose that we keep it informal, minimal organization, except for setting a definite time and place, and stating that there will be a pot luck Saturday night. People just show up who want to, and make all their own arrangements.
My vote is for: Davis Lake, either the first or second weekend of October (weekend to include Friday).
What say you????????

First weekend in October would work for me Betty. Davis is also fine....are there campgrounds open then and will they accomodate my 35 ft trailer???

I will call Beckworth Ranger district to make sure, but I believe Lightning Tree will still be open. Bathrooms, but maybe no water. Will find out and post.

Didn't have to call. According to reserveusa.com, the closing dates for both Grasshopper and Lightning Tree are Oct. 15. don't know about making reservations (usually they don't bother when the season is waning), but the campground is open and we could gather up!!

they took a lot of tree out of Grizzly and Grasshopper, but the roads were not changed. so, should be easier to navigate with a long trailer. Lightning Tree is easier to get big rigs in and out of.

I'll try to make it. And like Jim, I'll probably arrive a day or two early or stay a day or two after the weekend. When is this debacle? October 6-7 or 13-14?
Although, the egg hatch might be going strong on the LSac, so I might hit that before or after.

John,
so far, charlie, carpy and I agreed to first weekend (Oct 6-7). Sounds like Jims and Oldtrout can do that weekend also.
Guess that could change as we hear from more folks If the other weekend is a better choice. However, later we schedule it, greater likelihood of weather possibly a problem.
How about for now, we assume Oct 6-7 unless there is a groundswell for the 13-14th??
