Hey all, just was on the Patagonia site and they had a video of a guy named Mikey Wier fishing some place in CA and sticking a massive rainbow...

Who is that guy (and what river is that?).

I've seen a few of his videos before, he is also on Trout Bum Diaries Vol. 1 . I think he grew up in the Sierras near Truckee? My guess to the stream is American River or Butte Creek?

Google puts him at the Tahoe Fly Fishing Outfitters... which makes me think Truckee... certainly are some big fish in there... not that I've caught too many of them, though.

I believe that river will be your home waters here pretty soon Bjorn....pretty sure it is the American or the Yuba. Possibly Middle fork of the feather but I did not recognize that hole and I think I would have if it was the feather....

I was heartbroken on the Lower Sac when I landed what might have been an 11 pound trout... it was under an indicator... bummer...

And the 25.5 incher that I caught when fishing with Road Dog (that at one point swam through his legs) was, alas, under an indicator...

I was so upset that I threw all the fish right back in the river!

I think I caught your fishes brother on the sac this weekend...not only under an indicator but...(gasp).on an egg pattern. fish was 26" long...not sure on weight but it was huge...
