Burney Dining Options???? 17 Years, 3 Months ago
|
|
I'm going up next Thursday through Sunday and fishing the Pit, Hat Creek, MAnzanita, etc. The question is dinner options. I know Burney is a small town and probably closes up early. Will there be places open for later for dinner at the end of the day/early evening? Would I be better off bringing the camp stove and portable grill and cooking out? Suggestions welcome.

Last time I was there, a Chinese restaurant on main street was open at 8:00PM. Check out their moo-goo-gai pan......

the burger joint right on the highway is pretty damn good....I highly recoment the pizza place next to longs (I think it is called half time or something similar), but only for people watching. The food sucks but watching the tweeker chicks that run the place and the drunk old dudes that hang out there and try and get in their pants is entertaining. It has been two years since I have been there so maybe it has changed.

Angelinas at the Rex. Period. #1 restaurant in the entire area now. The owner and chef is the former chef of the Pit River Inn and serves really good meals. The restaurant is in the old "dive" that was the Rex.

Yeah, I've been there quite a few times...pretty good. It's on the right hand side as you come into town (going east).
