The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Had intentions to go out fishing today but awoke to rain and dreary weather in general. Cancelled fishing plans, tied a few flies and just generally got lazy.

Now planning/preparing dinner for Ukiah Patty and I.

First course, which is cooking, will be French Onion Soup made from scratch with good yellow onions, some fine white wine, and broth made from my last year's elk.

That will be followed by a small portion of venison backstrap in a port wine sauce with mushrooms and capers. That will be accompanied by a nice spinach salad with a balsamic cream dressing.

No dessert, have to watch our waistlines you know.

Ah, the travails of retired life.

...sitting here with a cup of coffee listening to the rain pelt the roof and deck...makes me think it might be good to head north soon.

You got me thinking...hmmm - might put together a pot of chili here in a while.

Still trying to get used to this new complicated board. Have you moved already, or just adopted a new name in preparation for the move?? Been out of town for a long time and things sure did change. Hope all is well with you and Patti.

Probably here until March, but one never knows.

I already had dinner or I'd be hopping in the car and heading up there for dinner. Of course, you'd have to keep it warm for me all night for me to get there!
