I've been waiting on doing some ordering from the catalog until they got the place open so I would have a reason to head up there. Only a little over an hour away too!

I have not been there yet. Driven past it many times, but I know if I stop in I'll buy something... or want something. Dissatisfaction is bad.

Stopping by the Sierra Trading Post in Meridian was disappointing. There was very little selection, the prices weren't great, and the clothing sizes were frustratingly inconsistent. Only found one shirt that day, but it was a bargain for a nice sleeved western deal with pointed yokes for $7.

I live in the city, but don't fit in,
You know it's a pity the shape I'm in.
Well, I've got no home, and I've got no choice,
Oh Lord have mercy on a country boy!

That's on a Friday! Sounds like a cool idea but it could be a little difficult for those who work for a living (myself included).

Don't forget the Reno Fly Shop 17 Years, 3 Months ago
Cabelas is cool, but be certain to save those fly fishing purchases for your local shop (or, since you are in Reno, the Reno Fly Shop down at 294 E. Moana). The big boxes have their place, but IF YOUR LOCAL SHOP gives good service, has a nice stash of stuff and doesn't rip you off - support them with your business.

Had to call Cabelas yesterday and heard the exact same date!

I will be there buying all my Christmas presents. Wonder what everyone else in the family will get?

It sure will be nice to have a Cabela's so near by. I was in Reno just the other day,for Sammie, and I decided to stop by the Orvis Store to see about picking out a nice bed my little buddy.

I got to talking with Lance the Orvis store manager about Cabela's opening almost across the street from their location....Lance said Cabela's was looking to hire some 300 plus workers and he didn't see how they could possibily find that many people let alone good people.

I said it sounds like it's going to end up like a Home Depot, great advertising but if you go into Home Depot with a question of any kind GOOD LUCK finding someone with an answer.

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.
