Fished the Deschutes river on Wednesday and Thursday for Steelies. Had to work pretty hard for a few hook-ups. The river has an epic run coming, but not there yet in the Warm Springs to Trout Creek stretch. Hooked three on Wednesday, and none on Thursday. Fished hard both days. Our group of four hooked 5 fish total for the two days.
Cool part of the visit to Madras, the Film the Management is going to be filmed in Madras beginning next month at the "no-tell-motel" we stayed in. Sonny's on highway 97 in Madras will host a film cre of about 100 people with Jennifer Anniston starring in a "no-tell, motel" kind of movie. Why they picked a motel in Madras, much less this one, I will not guess.
Still, any day steelhead fishing is better than work! Great float both days. We had Roger Carbone both days and he is an excellent guide, I do recommend!
