On the upper Sac around Azaela above Cantera Loop I have seen the October caddis fluttering around over the water at the end of the day or just as the sun went off the river. The amazing thing is the orange transluceny of their large eyes and their paired wings. Like you or someone said they don't key on the adults, at least for my timeframe. Bill Carnazzo is the guy that first introduced to me October caddis life cycle.
