Official Grand Prize Winner - just bragging ;) 17 Years, 3 Months ago  
Ole Sammie, my dog, was the Grand Prize winner for the Boston Whaler Memories Contest for their 50th Anniversary Calendar. I took this picture at Eagle Point Lake Davis.

The prize was an 80 GB classic ipod.

Sure do love my whaler and of course the old cover girl herself - Sammie

Agreed they are both great boats. I was in the market for a BW last year and even had a couple sold out from under my nose the day I was going to make an offer.

Then a Grady presented itself on craig's list and I moved quickly. Turned out to be a really great boat that's perfect for what I do.

That's one very sweet looking boat.

I tried craig's list as well but found the number of whalers listed to be very limited. I drove all the way down to San Jose to look at one with the cash in my pocket but it was just to beat up. I finally bit the bullet and bought one new.

I've had a blast with it here in Plumas County fishing Davis, Eagle, Frenchman's, Almanor, Spaulding and a couple of other smaller lakes up here.

I haven't gotten her into the Delta yet but once the back heals completely I hope to get her down there. That striper fishing just looks like too much fun to pass on.

I actually named it "White Fly" but have yet to paint it.

Any idea if there will be a striper bash this year? If so, maybe we can hook up.

I haven't heard. I know there was some talk of doing the delta for a mini bash since there won't be a fall bash this year but haven't heard anyone mention anything lately.
