Hey Ed,
I can't get your e-mail address, so I'll have to make a public post. With warmer weather coming up, the trout should be getting more active. Stone fly nymphs are the go to flies on the Merced. Hopefully you'll hit it before the melt runoff gets serious.

Both work well and so do size 16 flashback pheasant tails.
