Annoying Board "Design feature" 17 Years ago
Greg,

Is there any way to put a "Return to Forum" button on the bottom of a thread? It would really help.

I am pretty tired of posting to the bottom of a long thread, and as soon as the 'view post' or 'return to forum' pops up hitting the Return to Forum, only to wait fifteen seconds, and then get shown my post. Now I can't just or I get a double post, so I drag the slider up to the top of the page, and hit Campfire.

I suppose you could fix the failure of the return to forum button, if that's easier...

You can just click on one of the "breadcrumb" links. I suppose we can add that to the bottom as well.

Greg,

Nothing WRONG with it, but I have to drag the dam slider up to the top of the page to get to see that. That is what I do.

I'd prefer a button on the bottom, so that after I post, and the "Return to Forum' doesn't work, I can just click on a Return to Forum button that does work. You KNOW how fussy users are!

Some new templates are on the way 17 Years ago
...so the user can choose what layout works best for them. I might get the new "Lightning" template configured sometime tonight for people to try. It's based on a "flat" layout - but it's fast and some people might like it.

Greg, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I think the current setup is working:

    1. You click on "Submit" to post your comments.
    2. You are taken to (for lack of a better term) an "interim" page.
    3. While on the "interim" page, you are presented with two links, "View Post" & "Return to Forum", however, there is also a "timer" that kicks in and will take you automatically to your post if you do nothing.

I believe this "timer" gets in the way of your selected link (if you click on one). So no matter what you click, the browser ignores it because it is in the process of re-directing you to your post.

Perhaps you could either do away with the redirect, or simply make the browser pause until the new post is ready to display and go there, excluding the "interim" page.
