How do I post pictures?
Written by Dawn-
There are two ways to put a picture into your post on the forums.
1. Use the upload feature.
or
2. Use the IMG tag
If you only want to have one picture in your post, or the picture you wish to use is not hosted on website you can link to, you can use the upload feature. This is located at the bottom of the page, under the text box. There is a box with "Select Image File to Attach". Next to that is a browse button. If you select the browse button, you can search for the file on your computer and it will put it in the box.
If you wish to use multiple pictures in your post and your picture or pictures are hosted on a website which you can link to, you can use the IMG tags. The board does not currently support HTML, so you must use the IMG tag in order to put a picture in your post. The IMG button is located above the text box with a number of other buttons all labeled "Boardcode".
You simply cut and paste the URL for the picture into the post, highlight it, and hit the IMG button.
It will come up as a default "[img size=150]YOUR URL HERE[/img]". It is very likely that img size = 150 will be too small for your picture. To post the picture in the original size, just delete "size = 150". It should now read "[img] YOUR URL HERE [/img]".

What can I post here ? (read this carefully!)
Written by AdministratorSaturday, 14 July 2007
This is a fly fishing board, so naturally any post related to fly fishing is encouraged. However, this is also an online community of sorts, so we expect that off topic posts, or threads that veer off-topic, will occur frequently. We don't explicitly discourage these posts, as we are confident that most of our contributors are capable of exercising a reasonable amount of self-restraint. We do encourage the building of friendships, and we realize that there's more to life and friendships than fly fishing. We do discourage obscenity and personal attacks. Youngsters as well as adults read the board, so take that into consideration when choosing your words. The board administrators can and will, at their sole discretion, remove posts that cross the line.

What is a Bash ?
Written by Dawn-
A Bash is an event where the community comes together for fishing and fellowship. The Spring Bash is our annual Bash for getting the whole group together for a weekend of fishing fun and catching up with friends. Saturday night is the main event where we have a potluck. It is a very informal event that allows everyone to meet and socialize a bit. Anyone interested in fly fishing is welcome. Whether you are a novice or an experienced fly fisherman - it's a great way to meet your fellow anglers. The Spring Bash is the 2nd weekend in June.
Additional Bashes are held throughout the year and can be organized by anyone who wishes to have one. A Fall Bash is usually held the 1st weekend in October, and has evolved into a striper and warmwater fish bash. We also have Rod Bashes and Fly-tying Bashes. Anytime a group of NCFFBer's gets together to fish, it is generally known as a Mini-Bash.

What is a Bjornian Number?
Written by Administrator-
This is a very large number - especially when talking of fish. It's larger than 10 but smaller than a Google. It was coined at the first bash when Bjorn came back to camp telling us about "large numbers" of fish.

What is a user Connection?
Written by Greg Miller-
A user can request a "connection" to another person while viewing their profile. This is basically a way to "bookmark" the person in your connection folder. You can then keep notes on that person, quickly find them to send a Private Message, etc.
Another interesting benefit is that when you are viewing someones profile - you can see your "connectedness" with them. For example, if John is connected to Bob and Bob is connected to George, then John has one degree of connectedness with George. You can picture it like this: John->Bob->George - so John "knows" George through Bob. You can imagine that with a large group the connections can get pretty complicated. When viewing the profiles you can see how people are connected together.
