Hi Gang,
It is with nearly unrestrained excitement that I have the great honor to inform you that the family of the NCFFB has lost a long time and trustworthy member, and simultaneously has gained a strong, new, upstart.
Last evening, after over 18 months of searching for a new SUV, Billy's 92 Ford Explorer was bided a fond (and nearly teary) farewell and Billy is now the proud new owner of a brand new 2001 Metallic Green, Chevrolet Silverado 1500! It’s a 4X4 and is equipped with the Z71 off-road package. It is an extended cab, short bed, and has Chevy’s 5300 Vortec engine putting out a very nice 285-hp and 325-ft. lbs. of torque. It has an all leather interior, with options that will take me several months to discover, learn, forget, and re-learn, heated leather seats, CD, auto tinting rear-view mirror, and the list just goes on and on. It is truly the nicest truck I have ever seen the inside of and I can’t believe that I own it!! I am VERY, VERY happy to say the least!
I do have some concerns though, going from an SUV, where everything can be kept safely inside, to a truck where items are often kept in the bed, how do you truck owners make your trucks fly fishing friendly? There is plenty of room to put everything behind us in the cab when it’s just Ms. Mooo and I, but when I have my daughter, some things are going to be put in the bed. I’d love to hear any ideas or suggestions. Camper shells, Tonneau covers, anything…
Billy
