Welcome to the NEW NCFFB - the community driven resource by and for the Fly Fisher
There are many new features available. Some of the features include:
Better Forum Management
- Easily view a list of your posts
- Keep track of your "favorite" threads
- Easily subscribe to threads to receive email on new postings
- PM (Private Message) links under people's names
- Online status indicator for people
- ...much more!
User Profile Improvements
- You now can create a "Signature" that will show up at the bottom of all your posts.
- Keep a "Connections" folder
- This allows you to store a "bookmark" of profiles. You can request a connection to another user while viewing their profile.
- Manage your own Photo Gallery
- Any Ads that you have in the Classifieds section will automatically show up
- People can leave comments in your profile "book"
Better Article Organization
- The best trip reports can now quickly and easily be updated in article form on the Front Page of the site.
- Bjorn now has a section on Conservation
- Phil is heading up a Fly Tying area
- EVERYONE can submit an article - see User Groups below

Improved Classifieds Section
- Easily find items via categories
- Upload photos for your items
- Powerful search function
- Manage your Ads from your profile
User Groups
- Author status: If users request it - they will be given the ability to author articles that can be published on the site. A "track-back" for the article will automatically be created so the article can be discussed on the message board forum.
- Editor status: Trusted users will not only be able to submit new content but they will be able to edit existing content and improve or work on articles that are not yet published
- Publisher status: This is also known as "Steering Committee" status. This group guides the overall focus of the NCFFB. What articles are put on the Front Page and other issues related to the site are discussed among the members. The Steering Committee is still working on its charter - more information will be made available soon. Steering Committee members have a "Committee" badge under their name in the message board area so they are easily identified.
Links to the old message board and archives will be made available soon. Nothing posted on the NCFFB ever gets lost!
