Email notification working? 16 Years, 7 Months ago
Not to be a whiner but I didn't get any email notifications of replies to a thread I posted yesterday. Have checked my spam quarantine and there's no messages there from the Board. Thought this was working before?

Bill,

it's working fine for me, I got eleven notices between 1600 and 2100. Check your profile and make sure the auto response has not been turned off.

Hey Bill - it should be 16 Years, 7 Months ago
You can also go here:

http://www...owsub&func=myprofile

to check on what threads you have subscribed to for email notification. You can find that link as "My Posts" on the My Menu section (in red) on the Front Page of the site.

Hey Bill,

One thing I have noticed is that if I use "Quick Reply" rather than "Reply", I am not automatically subscribed to a thread to get email notification. If you use "Quick Reply", you need to subscribe to thread to get notifications (red "Subscribe" button at the top of the page).

Hope that helps!

Thanks all 16 Years, 7 Months ago
Checking these areas -- I've been subscribed to the posts and I don't see anything in my profile blocking notifications. I thought maybe I should save my email address again in Contact Info but when I tried to update my contact info I got this error:

Forbidden access

Root cause of problem identified -- my um, domain name expired, which dropped it from the domain registry, which of course meant I wasn't getting inbound emails. (I was wondering why for the past few days all the spammers were lightening up on me...)

Sorry for the false alarm, definitely in the category of "operator error".

I need to go fishing...or drinking...or probably both.
