Kind of. Here's the skinny on the Manchester Beach KOA.

They have plenty of room Feb 15-17. Upshot:

For the Group:A covered cooking pavilion with electric and charcoal grills, electric stove tops, sinks, and 6 tables. Free - first come, first served.
Group firepit next to the pavilion. Neither has a "curfew", and we are free to enjoy the kitchen pavilion and group firepit as late as we want, but the whole place does have quiet hours after 10pm. Talk is fine; music and hollerin, out (who, us?).

There is a rec room available for rent at $150. Has seats and a big screen, and would eliminate the 10pm issue.

There is a dog play park, so pet-friendly. There is a pool and a hot tub, as well as game room. It is a 1/2 mile trail to the beach, which is also dog friendly (but I'm still researching whether fire-friendly...anyone?)

For the campers: They've got tent sites, kabins, kottages, and rv spots. Check out dimensions and prices at http://www.manchesterbeachkoa.com/

The lady I talked to didn't seem concerned about late night visitation, as long as neighboring campers weren't disturbed after 10pm. We also discussed the finer point of "hard to disturb anyone after 10pm, if you're inside a kabin). She also turned me on to the Hot Deals section of the KOA website, where, with advanced rez and probably a plethora of restrictions, you can get a site "buy one night, get one free", which, if true, is a pretty damn good deal. That tips my decision towards the luxury of the Kottage for the weekend, as it were.

The other 2 options are

1, stay on the beach (where I'll meet you in the morning) or
2, everyone make indie reservations at inns/motels in the area, and get together for dinner, but no cook out.

Thoughts?

Sounds great to me! I am all for creature comforts (or at least a dry bed) in the winter time. If anyone has a Kabin or Kottage they wish to split with others, please let me know.

Dawn, at half off, I have no problem splitting a full blown Kottage with your goddess self (particularly since I know what a good roommate you are). It will be a girl's palace, for the weekend.

Except, I don't allow blow dryers in my domaine. None of those electrified hair drying thingies, in my midst. Can you live with this one house rule?

Well, considering I really only use a hair dryer to dry my hiking boots after hiking in the rain, I think I can live with that rule

Sounds like fun! Is it February yet?

Looks as though they have a pay for one night, get one night free deal going on then. It seems that applies to Kottages and Kabins ( spelling...)

I think I might have to try to catch a Coastal Chromer. Of course, the Hounds are playing at The Plough and Stars the 16th, and I am jonesin' for a fix of Irish music.

Gotta think......

Three hours drive, show breaks at 0100 - 0400 arrival....

Looks as though I have to make a choice, can't see a way to do both.... AHHHH the pain.....

Ed, have you fallen off the fence, yet?

I'll bring my holiday gift (from me, to me)...a portable ipod sound dock, and mix up a few tunes for you, hon...

I'm booked! Coming in Friday night, exiting Sunday morning.

To get the BOGO offer, you need to reserve online thru the website, then call the joint and confirm you did indeed, get the 2nd night free discount.

I'm in (and ergo, Dawn is as well).

As it gets closer, I'll get with everyone about who's bringing what.

Yay!

Haven't had enough to drink to fall off the fence. Still riding it - I sure would like a chance to hit one of those G streams once - if they are open...

Still thinking...

Plus, one has Brush Creek and the Garcia to the south, and Alder to the north. Brush has some great fish, but one has to time it right (Feb is perfect). I used to do laundry at the KOA in Manchester, when other options were not available.
PS- Don't tell anyone about Brush, as it is a secret

I am booked as well for the night of the 16th, as I'm just getting back from a NY trip on the 14th. Unless things change, though, I'll be up at some semi-reasonable time on the 16th.

Clam Fest.....I 16 Years, 10 Months ago
Seems I remembered wrong.

Thought this might be an oyster bbq/clam bake/fishing get together. Sounded pretty sweet to me. The idea of a huge oyster/clam/fishing trip thrilled me!!

Seems this idea has kind of petered out.
