plunging ones arm into a dark muddy hole on the bottom of a hot southern river never really struck me as fun. Snapping turtles added to the impression. Jambing my arm down a cat fish's mouth struck me as odd at best. Like Andrew I saw a special once about it... fascinating to watch but that was as far as I got

Too much heat, humidity, Watermelon Wine, mosquitos and sheer boredom will make people do crazy things! Noodling was the brainchild of those "great Americans" who reside where much of the movie "Deliverance" was filmed. Maybe they would quit noodling if they got cable TV.

I can hear them now...

Darwin's theory states that nature, catfish in our example, is developing a defense mechanism for noodlers. Serrated teeth would be my guess but we might get catfish with jaws like in the Alien. Sometime soon if noodling gets more popular.

That was supposed to be joke. With the poor cut and paste job and the emoticon with "the wink" I thought you guys would have figured it out. Don't mean to stereotype but I don't come from the south and my name is Aram. Now..... who's ever heard of an Armenian noodlin'? Would love to give it a try some day.
