I wake up early sometimes with things on my mind that don't sit right with me and I can't go back to sleep. This morning it was the recent salmon kill on the Stan. Not much anyone can do about it now. I've seen this same thing happen in Alaska to the chum salmon on the Aniak River. Mother Nature did it that time. A few years later A. D. F. & G. had a moritorium on catching Chum there. Like I said, Not much you can do about it....but in this case, we could have someone with a clue with their hand on the valve. sheesh.

Then, soon after the Salmon Festival at Knights Ferry, the feds dropped the flows below Goodwin Dam and dewatered the redds on the side channels. I have to wonder, who is running the show? I'm haven't heard a word about it anywhere but around here.
