After falling on my ass several times while wading with just felt soles when fishing the Crooked River with Carpy I decided I HAD to get new wading boots. Although a little expensive (around $150) the Korkers have convinced me they are the cat's meow. I purchased a pair of the studded felt soles to go with the rubber sole and plain felt soles that came with the boots. The boots really open up for donning and removal, and are plenty wide, a real plus for an old guy. The lacing system is unique with a dial and steel laces that tighten up fast and easily and stay that way while fishing. A pull on the dial to pop it up releases the laces and pulling up on the boot tongue completely opens up the boot. Very happy with these.
Another product that I had purchased a while ago but hadn't really used was Jay Fair's Translucent Swimming Hackle. I tied some Wooly Bugger/Wiggle Tail patterns while up at the mini bash. Myself, Betty, and JimS all did well with them. The action of the material in the water is fantastic and it is another tool in the arsenal that won't be left behind. I plan on purchasing as much as I can afford because I'm not sure how much longer it will be available. I have also experimented with a damsel nymph pattern using the material for the legs with impressive results. Another experiment involves leech style patterns that hold a lot of promise. If you like to tie buggers, get some of this stuff...it eliminates the need for body material and hackle in many applications.
Tight lines!!!

Both the Fly Shop and Bob Mariott's are listed as carrying it. Get the long shuck for most applications.
