Completely lost... over... Please send help.... over 17 Years, 2 Months ago
I can't seem to figure this place out. I have my viewing settings at threaded and show latest post first but I'm seeing only old posts. At the top of the list is GM's post from yesterday titled "Welcome to the new NCFFB." I know there have been more posts since then because I can see the last 10 post on the home page. There's also new posts under "Recent Posts" down below the forum index but they are all out of order. When I go into "Campfire" the posts are from the 12th back tp the 9th. There's also only one page. Not all the post are there so there has to be more then one page but it says I'm on page one. Please help.

P.S No more spell check?

Hey Shawn,

The first post by GM, the Welcome message, is "Sticky", meaning that it is flagged to always stay at the top of the page.

If you look at the top level of "Campfire" in threaded mode, on that post only you will see a small icon just to the right of the TROUT. This icon indicates that the message is "sticky".

Below that, the threads will be in chronological order of the latest post in that thread. In other words, if someone posts a response to any thread, it moves the entire thread back up to the top of the list (other than the "sticky" posts).

Get it?

GM posted the "Welcome to the new NCFFB"...as a "spotlight", so it always at the top..

that should clear up a lot of the confusion

As with all new things, just play with it for awhile, and pretty soon you will figure it out.

Hey Shawn,

GM's post from yesterday is "sticky" so it stays at the top of the page at all times. This board works a little different in that threads are bumped to the top of the list (below any sticky posts) when a new post is made in them. So this post should move up the page after I post here. There are additional posts in the other forum "Hookups". They also show up under "Recent Posts". There is a bit of a delay in the "Recent Posts", so brand new posts may take a little while to show up. It is a bit confusing to start, but I know GM is looking for suggestions and trying to iron out any kinks. Did this answer your questions? I am working on the FAQ's to make sure we have a way of helping everyone transition to this new format. There is quite a bit that is different.

OK, I get it. I just scrolled down and found my post. Hiding all the responses to a sticky post might be worth considering. Maybe make it so you can only see the responses once you click on those posts.

Good idea...we need to think about how sticky posts are done in threaded mode...we'll fix it.
