Its been many years since I lived down that way, but back in the mid 70's Blue Lake, Silver Lake, and Caples Lake were all good for float tubes and had a decent amount of stocked fish for put and take.

Down Hwy 89 to Hwy 88 is a short trip. W Carson and E Carson are nearby, but W Carson is getting pretty skinny this time of year. The lakes mentioned above are not far. Woods lake is a special favorite of mine, and fish the outlet creek for small rainbows. Also in the area is the Indian Creek Resv on the road to the airport--the Nevada guys have mentioned it. I've heard talk of Spooner Lake on the Nevada side, but I've never been there. There are also a few pay-to-fish ponds--one at Northstar. If I remember from years past, Dick White talked about small streams on the West side of the lake.

Hope this helps.
