Sac-Sierra Trout Unlimited Crab Feed 12 Years, 1 Month ago  
Saturday, January 26th SSTU will be hosting a Crab Feed fundraiser at the Blue Goose in Loomis California. There will be a silent auction, raffle and tons of fun for all!This event is open to everyone, not just SSTU members. Volunteers will be needed to help out.

Due to a lack of demand for tickets the chapter has decided to cancel the crab feed. We just could not see going through with the event if we were not going to break even. Sorry.

I think that a lot of people are facing uncertainty in financial matters right now Dustin. I know that a couple of my favorite charities are experiencing a drastic decline in support so it isn't surprising to me that you folks are having the same difficulties. Hopefully the new year will bring cheerier times for all, we can only hope.

Thanks for the kind words Charlie. The trouble we had was that ticket sales were about 30% of the break even number with three weeks to go. I think there was just too much competition for Crab Feeds in the Sacramento area in January, some of them have been held for decades. We also did not have enough people spreading the word and trying to sell tickets. Lessons learned here for sure.

40% of the tickets sell in the last 2 weeks,,,and of the 40% over 50% sell in the last week

The Chico club is sold out year after year at 200 plus dinners.
