LTC Edward Kelleher 10 Years, 7 Months ago
Ed passed away this morning. I have been trying to write something that would express my absolute admiration, love and respect for this fine man. I met Ed over 15 years ago and he quickly became my unwitting role model and mentor. A finer person would be difficult, if not impossible, to find. Ed's family has not yet made plans for a funeral service. As soon as I find out I will let you know.

Ed has passed on to the halls of Valhalla. I'm sure he and Fred are already hatching plans to fish Heaven's waters. Ed took great pride in his family, in his Boy Scouts, and was a masterful "Roadie" for his son's Irish band. He also cared deeply for his friends of which there are many. His presence on our fishing trips was always a treat, and his concentration when on a stream or lake was total. I'm having a hard time putting into words the many feelings I have for Ed so I'll just leave it to knowing that he is now at peace and no longer in pain. God bless him.

Charley....thanks for letting us know of Ed's passing. I had just heard of his being ill earlier this week. You are right...Ed was one of a kind. He made Pat feel so comfortable when she attended her first bash (as others did too). We are better for knowing him. I am going to miss him. May his time in heaven be filled with 10 steelhead days!

I have posted this in several places on FB but it is the essential Ed. This pic was taken when he ran into a group of young women who were hiking where he was fishing on the Big Sur River. Only Ed could pull this off:

Charlie and John, very nicely said by both of you. Ed was indeed one of the Icons from our board. Here is one of my favorite pictures of Ed and his family at one of our bashes that I used early in the “Northern California Fly fishing Blues” recording. In Ed’s honor here is that recording that tried to capture our good times together at all those wonderful bashes. Ed you will be missed by all your many friends!

The world is a much, much dimmer place place without Ed. I just don't have the words right now to say much else. Sending prayers for peace to his family and his many friends.

I just heard as well. I know I haven't been around much the past few years; but Ed will surely be missed! I have fond memories of fishing Hat Creek with him during one of the Bashes many moons ago.

My condolences to Ed's family and board family.

Well said Charlie. I did not know Ed well. Only fished with him once. But from what I did know he was truly a class act. Very intelligent and caring guy. He will be missed. I remember his post with the above picture. Like everything else....he pulled it off with style. - Michael

Haven't seen Ed in a few years but I will always remember hims. Sat there many of nights laughing and talking. Tight lines Ed and may your rivers always run plentiful of fish.
