Just back from 5 1/2 days in Montana. Brought my girlfriend on her first fly fishing trip. She was great-spirited and on the last afternoon caught three beautiful Yellowstone River trout, each at least fifteen inches. Weather was breezy, often cold, some snow, and caddis were just coming out next to last day of the trip. It was great.

FYI--Misch is using a Tenkara pole. She later switched to a 4-weight and caught her fish using it. Pic of me is on the West Boulder.

Way to go Andrew. Carpy and I, and wives, will be up in Montana next month. Not sure where all we'll be fishing but will post a report, even if it is only a report of how many and how big the drinks were.

Misch has a future as a fly angler. I caught four fish the first day. Couple of days later she said, "So, what'd you get that first day? 8 fish?" All I could say was, "You sure picked up on that aspect of the sport fast..."
