The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

At the original Bash, we had 12 people. We grew to 136 at one time and had a very nice 28 or so people at this one.

One by one the original Bashers have had other commitments and that number of people who had been to every Bash kept dropping. A few Bashes ago there were three: Ben, Greg and myself.

Then Ben missed a Bash so we were down to two.

At Bash XX (this one), we lost another original as Greg failed to show up. That leaves only one of the original Bashers who has been to every Bash. That shows either real dedication OR a real need to get a life!!

Wasn't Carpy one of the original Bashers...or did you forget him because his name is Paul now???

Sorry Charlie but Paul (Carpy) missed one Bash. Think it was a family affair.

Sorry Paul but Section XIV ( Official Gatherings of the NCFFB ), subsection 4.a.1 of the NCFFB by-laws specifically states that " A gathering designated as a Bash can be held anywhere within the state of California". Section XIV, subsection 4.a.2 states "A gathering held outside California will be referred to as a mini-Bash". This is the case in the Montana Mini-Bash of 2003 in which Jonsey, his son, Greg, Kelly and myself attended.

Again XIV, 4.b.1 says " An All-Time Basher shall be defined as any NCFFB member who has attended all Bashes as defined in subsection 4.a.1 above. Failure to attend for any reason will result in the disqualification of that member for consideration as an All Time Basher "

Actually I was thinking of missing this Bash and attending the MS graduation since this 8th grade graduating class was the last one I taught. I got along with them very well and was always warmly welcomed whenever I visited the campus this year. I thought the graduation was Fri so maybe I could come up after it. Then I found out it was on Sat so I nixed that plan. Glad I did. I had a good time as always and Pat especially enjoyed herself, talking with Mary and Patty.

Good luck as you move towards retirement. I think you'll really enjoy it when you get there.... more time to spend with your kids and grandkids.

I was led to believe that the by-laws were repealed (with all authority assigned to the moderators) when the board went to the new format that includes the user friendly software...

While I enjoy 1-goal games...I was happy to see the 4-0 shutout for Thomas and it was a classic Game 7 win...on the other team's ice, having not won there in 3 prior series games!

If the Sharks aren't in the Final, I am a supporter of any of the original 6...and since I had Harry Sindin and John (The Chief) Bucyk as guide clients for a day, the Bruins are my favorite of the original 6.
