salmon that is.
Hit the outhouse riffle on the Feather this morning. It's been way too long since I last fished the Feather in Oct of 2009. I was on the road to the river at 6:45 am, a bit latter then I hoped. I was amazed by all of the traffic, Could they have all been going fishing too? naahhh,,,?
Was on the river by 7:15 and had the whole river to myself. Lots of dead salmon on the clean bank. clean bank? yep, they closed the low flow to salmon fishing. Hardly any trash. The flows were a bit higher then normal and lots of dark salmon were hanging out in the fast water.
I think I may have seen one steelhead jump amoung the many rolling salmon. I lost a half dozen flies to the "ugly ones" and was off the river by 9:30 am.
Next time I will get there earlier.
