Thing are going well up here in the Mts (Sonora area), I've been working hard and fishing once in a while. Family is doing great especially with the 4 year old Grandson, Elijah, being healed of stage 4, aggressive, Neuroblastoma Cancer. He spent the last 12 months at Stanford Hospital but is back at home now & doing really great !!

I guess I could throw in a fishing report from Last Saturday , the 15th.
I went to Beardsley Afterbay, and the fish were all over the place on the surface. Grasshopper or Caddis or an attractor dry fly with a bead head midge nymph dropper about 3 feet down would work nicely!! Although I stayed under the surface with wolly buggers & caught a few bows and a brown.
I saw a fly swimming around on the surface and finned over to see what it was. It looked like a large Caddis, an October Caddis, that might have been laying her eggs in the water. As I got to her I saw a 3-4 lb brown come up and was about to take her but she saw me & I spooked her away .
#1)October Caddis
#2 The trees are turning the fall colors by the water (one reason this is my favorite water to fish)
#3 The fish were inches off the shore line, a nice Rainbow.
#4 The powerhouse at the base of the dam generates electricity. But there is a tube to the right of the powerhouse, that by-pass the powerhouse. It was wide open, so they are draining the lake.
#5 I stayed at the lower end of the Afterbay and worked the far, left side. View is from the top of Beardsley Lake Dam.
#8 there were about 8 float tubers in the water. But they all stayed at the upper part of the Afterbay.
#9 One guy had a fold-up boat, with a trolling motor.
Like allways, It was a great evening on the water !!
