You are absolutely correct there were a bunch of leaves on the water. I of course contributed to the number of leaves with my many errant casts into the aforementioned foliage,which created a Christmas appearance to the trees with my dangling flies.

Just bought some 1/32 oz. jigs, figuring that the smaller size might work better in the clear water...oh yeah, they're exaggerated beadhead flies

Bruce send me your spey rod since you are never going to use it. At least mark uses jigs the correct way on a pin rod.

Naaaa, I think I'll keep them (the rods). Hey, how do you effectively fish a 6 foot hole, loaded with fish, that has little current, with a spey rod. Oh, you don't? You have to bypass some productive water? I'd rather switch back and forth between jigs, nymphs and streamers and only carry one rod. Like, why would you only want to stick to brunettes when there are so many fine blondes out there? And, red-heads drive me wild, too. Ginger or Maryann? Why not Ginger AND Maryann???

B'sides, fligging is a hell of a lot of fun...so long as you don't whack yourself on the forehead on the back cast.

They make a thing called a sinking shooting head line and you cast it out and strip your fly zing back thru the pool. Its amazing how many stupid fish have been caught that way by the legends of our sport.

Yeah, that does work in certain circumstances. I've done it. Guess I just like to rack up the body count. All kidding aside, I only practice my jigging on one or two bodies of water. If I lived in steelhead valhalla like you, there'd be no reason to do anything but swing...or maybe bounce an occasional nymph...hell, come to think of it, I did all 3 in BC (4 techniques - I forgot waking), so I guess I have to go back to the body count thing.
