Tyeing with Polar Chenille 13 Years ago
Ive had this material for quite awhile and decided it was
time to use this crap for something....I really do think its
crap but I spent the money for it so its time to learn to
use it , this is what fell from the vise.
The Polar Lamprey Bugger

I think this bugger is going to work here at Lewiston Lake this Spring.

Thanks Paul, my other version of this bugger has hooked fish in
Baum lake, Shasta lake, Upper Sac, Stampede Res. and the Trinity..
That burnt orange has been a good color in the past.

Mark,

I would think that fly and color would work for steelhead on the Trinity. I would fish that fly in any stillwater location. Nice tye.

Re:Tyeing with Polar Chenille 13 Years ago
Thanks Mitch, truth be known that was the best of three attempts,
this polar chenile is a pain to get looking right..sometimes I am my
worst critic
recipe
Hook...TMC 5263 #6-10
Beadhead...copper 1/8" or 5/32 on the larger hooks
Thread...Uni 8/0 brown
Tail...Burnt Orange Marribou with a few strands of fine copper flash
Body...Polar Chenile Olive Brown..pull strands toward tail as you wrap forward then trimmed to shape and desired length
Hackle..Chinese Neck Ginger or Reddish Brown sized to match body
Tips
Trim chenile to shape before applying hackle, leave a few long strands extending over tail but just a few as too many will restrict the motion of the marribou
Tie a few and give them a try !

I don't think I have any Polar Chenille. I will have to look. If I don't have it and I buy any more tying materials I am going to end up in Divorce Court...LOL.Lately I have been doing steelhead stuff like the squidro and soft hackles, don't know if they will work but they are fun to tie.

I was looking through my collection of materials and lo and behold I found orange polar chenille. I don't even remember buying it.
