The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

As of late there has been much banter about not being many fishing reports on this site so I thought I would prepare a report. Since I take things very literal here is my report "a fishing report". I have not seen any requests for a fishing report with details, just a fishing report. Now for those of you think I am being facetious ( I got a new dictionary for Christmas so now I know some three syllable words) you have to understand that most of my fishing expeditions are really casting practice in the guise of a fishing trip. In keeping with Charlie's idea of learning something on each outdoor excursion I did notice last time that the guy I fish fishing near had a fuzzy appliance attached to the end of his line. I wasn't sure what that that fuzzy thing was and since he was at least 6'14" tall with a permanent scowl I decided I shouldn't ask. I personally never attach a fuzzy thing to the end of my line, it might mess up my wonderful tailing loop.

Now on my last trip steelhead casting I did talk with another fisher person and they said to use a magnet to catch those steelhead, that seems to make sense so I have been perusing the various fly shops for a suitable sized magnet. I don't understand why none of the shops are carrying magnets, must be a secret technique.

as they are also used for retrieving motors from the lake bottom !!
