Last night at 7:15 pm, Vamp walked over the rainbow bridge. She would have been 14 years old on May 15th. She had a sore that wouldn't heal. Ultrasound last night revealed that she had liver and spleen cancer. her kidneys were also starting to fail. She was unable to hold her head up. So as unprepared and shocked as I was, I held her as she was euthanized. She was ready to be let over. This was the hardest thing that I ever had to do.
Luckily, my friend, Mary Ann was at the vet's office with me. Vamp was a great dog who lead a good life. She both gave lots of love and received it. She will be sorely missed by her pack. Ruby knows that something is up and missing her partner in crime.
