We have 5 confirmed swappers, and one I'm not sure about. Oldtrout, are you swapping? The deadline is May 1st, so we have plenty of time. I PM'd my address to most of the swappers. When we have a confirmed number of swappers, we'll know how many to tie. The theme of this swap is, "Favorite triut fly." It just dawned on me the I don't have just one favorite trout fly. So I'll be sending a Stimulator and a parachute Adams. Next time I'll think before i post. Mike

I was thinking of swapping flies then catching fish. I like your idea of catching fish then swapping flies better. So if I don't catch fish on your flies I'll know the problem wasn't the flies.

expressed or implied....Its a fairly dark pattern and we have had some small hatches of March Browns, the pattern is actully for a Dark Caddis .

Wing...CDC Golden Olive 4-6 feathers stacked, tied in and trimmed..short wing for
...March Brown longer for Caddis...longer wing floats better..
...A small strip of foam can be added to the wing for even more floatation
Head...Peacock Herl
A very easy tye and effective when big dark Bugs are on the menu and of coarse
colors can be changed to suit

That is a good looking fly.

I'm working on another batch right now , a couple shades lighter
but I'm low on natural CDC...have to try and make it to the fly shop
at lunch.

This morning I have been tying one called a March Brown Exciter. I am not happy the way the hackles are turning out but I think they will fish. I was going to tie another March Brown pattern but I need olive brown ice dub which about the only color of ice dub I don't have on hand. So I also need to go to the Fly Shop.
