Thursday night - cove off campsite 101 at Rocky Point Campground Good hatch, few fish working it. I even found a live hex inside of the trailer the next morning. Hooked and lost one small mouth on a hex nymph, missed two on a dry. Hatch started right at dark, about 8:50 PM
Word from Camp Host was fish the Dam cove.
Friday was spenting sight seeing and napping.
Friday Night - tons of 8 to 10" fish working the surface on some midge. lots of folks. Bait fishermen (grandpa and two kids) were having a ball catching the little guys. A Osprey as well caught his dinner in front of us.
I finally casted my nymph over and at least got my hands smelly on a nice chunky rainbow.
The Dam cove was a bust,,very, very few nymphs poping, no fish working them.
Sat I fished around Rocky Point CG during th eday. My fishing buddy showed lots of fish (smallmouth bass, in generalt 15 ft to 20 foot depth and I then discovered I left my bait fish patterns at camp. .
Fished later that day and hardly any fish scoped, A result of all the Boat traffic?
Took my wife to dinner and passed on the evening hatch. I should have gone fishing. We ate at the restraunt in Prattville. Terrible food and it was over priced. The burger was thin and actually burnt on both sides. For 17 bucks I expected something better. Oh, and it took over 40 minutes from ordering to touchdown on the table, which was why I skipped on the evening hatch.
Rocky Point is a great campground if you have never stayed there and usually full, but lots of turnover in spaces.
that's my report
