Sad Day 12 Years, 5 Months ago
My black Lab's hips went out on him Saturday so I will have to make that long and painful trip to the vet today. He would have been 14 in November so he had a long life by Lab standards. Some of his retrieves are vivid in my memory. Probably my funniest memory is when he was about 2 years old, I still had him on a check cord, my daughter decided to tie the cord around her waist. A pheasant jumped, Shadow took off, and my daughter got pulled into the mud. She wasn't hurt, at least not physically, we still laugh about that one. Thanks for listening

I feel your pain. It's been 12 years since I had to put down Jake and it still hurts.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It's been many years since our Australian Kelpie went were all good dogs go, but it's still hard to recall that incredibly sad day. I feel your sense of loss and sorrow.

Sad to hear...but he's got lots of companions of folks here waiting to run and chase with him.

Thanks, sad but true, I have seen numerous posts on here about a four legged friend moving on. I imagine he is in a broad field full of pheasants and a good dew for scent.
