Looks like the Bash/Goof is on for Oct 6-7 at Lightning Tree campground at Davis Lake.
Lightning Tree campground is on the east side of Davis. It is the last one up the road, about 3 miles beyond the other two campgrounds. We picked this campground since it is the easiest for folks with trailers or RV's to move about .
While it only has vault toilets, they have always been really clean. A couple of years ago, a very good water system was installed throughout the campground. Each campsite has a table and fire ring.
At this time of year, getting a campsite should not be a problem. Single sites are $21 dollars and often can hold two vehicles. Double sites (and half of the camping sites at Lightning Tree are double sites) are $42 and can often hold up to 4 vehicles. There's no charge for extra vehicles. Seniors with Golden Age Passes pay only half price-----So, find a senior and double up!!!
SUGGESTION: there are two loops in the campground. If we all try to gather up in the loop that has campsite numbers 31, 32, 33, etc, then we could all camp near each other. This may or may not work.
If possible, we will try to put some sort of sign up on the entrance bulletin board that says where everyone is located and whether they have room in their campsite and are willing to share. As you arrive and take a site, or become the second or third vehicle in a larger site, please put this on the chart.
Saturday night we will have a potluck/BBQ. Bring something to throw on the BBQ for yourself and some small dish to share. Location/Campsite to be determined. We'll try to choose the most isolated site so we won't annoy, disturb, bother, pester, or otherwise harrass the other campers.
Bring a few logs for the fire, maybe some charcoal, in case we need that, and a folding chair. BYO libations and plates and utensils. At the end of the night, take away anything you brought, if it's left over.
