spent most of my free time the past couple months refurbishing this old wood boat,
took it out for test float over the weekend. Looks a lot better in the water than in
my yard!


I plan on useing it a lot this winter chaseing the steel.

Couldn't agree more about the spamming issue, it is getting very frustrating.

Nice job on the boat, it looks like a fish catching machine. How is the river shaping up? I heard a wild rumor that there may be a few fish around. I haven't made it over for various reasons the last being an infection on my leg that started last week and apparently has taken up residence because it just doesn't want to go away.

real quick! There are a few fish trickling in but its a tough game with the low and
clear flows....Good news this year is the Salmon, best run in years !

Victor I was hoping to get up your way but my economic situation is keeping me close
to home.

Blue Bird Sky and the leaf hatch made for a slow day but the float was great.

Hard economic times for all of us ! all of the places local suck and with the price of gas I don't get out much,you are blessed to live near anadromous

Thanks Paul , I have countless hours in the project sanding all the white paint off
and applying the epoxy fiberglass and varnish coats.

I went to the Doc's Office in the first couple of days, something I normally would avoid but I have a seven day Canadian steelhead fishing trip coming up in a week so I wasn't taking any chances. They put me on 2 different antibiotics and as of today I seem to be getting better. As soon as I get back I will be heading over to your area.

is that boat called a "rapid robert"? old classic design. nice that you brought it back to life.

Hello Tim,been a long time ! Yes thats a term you just dont here much anymore,
but you know what they say about boats with square ends ?...
They have no point labor of love refinishing a wood boat but I stuck it out
even upgraded the bottom to epoxy/graphite over glass,,,,hopefully it will last
another 40 years....long after I'm gone anyhow.
If I recall the Rapid Robert had a pointed bow with a wide stern but this boat has
been squared off slightly at the bow.
