The Northern California Fly Fishing Board

Looking back 2012, with another month and a half to go, I had three great trips. Montana at the beginning of May, with some tough weather as is often the case in Paradise Valley, but some memorable fishing. End of June trip based in Grass Valley but fishing mostly in the North Yuba and Little Truckee, that was also lots of fun. Then Yosemite/Eastern Sierra mid-September, also a great time.

Wondering what other folks did this year.

I'm old but I remember vaguely being with Carpy somewhere. I think I even caught a couple of fish. Next year will be banner though, with even a few pictures.

So, how was it?

I never traveled more than an hour from home the whole year for a fishing trip.
Fished Trinity and Lewiston lakes for Bass and Trout more times than I can count as
I bought the yearly pass...I got my use out of it for sure and still have a freezer
full of Trout and of coarse their have been several days on the river for the Salmon
and Steelhead and more to come with a month and a half left this year...

well no I usually release most of them Stealhead they dont taste that good though
I did smoke a few this season .... smoke helps hide that hatchery taste

Cold but incredible fishing, not big numbers of fish but the small fish were about 30".
