Lake Davis report 11 Years, 1 Month ago
I fished Lake Davis last weekend for the first time. I averaged about one hook-up per hour. Fish ranged from about 14" to 20". All were caught on either a wiggle tail nymph or a snail pattern. The water temps were in the low 50s. I do have one bit of advice for fishing Davis. If your mind is on other things when you leave the lake, and you drive away leaving your fins and life jacket behind, make sure you do so somewhere in the vicinity of Betty. That way you'll be sure to get them back. Thanks Betty.

Thanks for the report Mike 11 Years, 1 Month ago
Mike, Thanks for your report. I am really glad you got to make the trip and get some nice fish as well. I was dissappointed not be able to make it but will at some point get to fish Davis. Glad Betty was there to help you get your stuff back, she is very helpful and I bet did really well fishing up there. Betty how about a report from your perspective? Instead of 4 days fishing I had planned at Davis, I did get one day fishing at Fuller Lake with a friend. We caught some about 15 fish between the two of us and Jay's Wiggle tail was effective there as well. Nothing big like Davis but here is one picture. Hope everybody has a wonderful Holiday season.

See my response to Carpy. Both stripping and indicator fishing worked well. For indicators, Midges in the am then flashback hare's ears or flashback pt's after 11:30 am. Fish were up in the water column, so we generally indicator fished in 9-10 feet of water, but only 5-7 feet down. For stripping, anything rust color, especially wiggle tails. Mostly intermediate lines for stripping, but occasionally, the fish would be in the shallows and a floating or slow sink line were best. Stillwater nymphs (with rusty tails) and sheep creek nymphs also good. North end of lake definitely held more fish.
