It has been quite some time since my last post, although I have watched this forum from time to time to see a bit of the happenings with this group. I just wanted to say Hello from our new locale in Northern Idaho as things became final this last week with the final transfer of our house in CA. Me and the family are now in the town of St Maries, Idaho which is just south of Coeur d'Alene about an hour. The St Joe and St Maries river converge right here in town and flow into the south of Lake Coeur d'Alene. I would tell you all about the great fishing we have here but the rivers are all covered in ice at the current time. It is 23 out right now and that is only a few degrees from the high today, which felt quite warm from the weather of a week ago.
I now procure logs for a plywood mill and sawmill owned by Potlatch here in St Maries. Kim and I and the 4 kids still at home settled on 12 acres about 10 miles outside of town with a parcel that backs up to industrial timberland and USFS land that goes for a hundred miles or more over the Bitterroots into Montana. We have seen deer, turkey, elk, moose, and wolverine on the property, and came upon the evidence of where wolves took an elk cow in the lower pasture earlier this fall. I hope all of you are doing well, and if you find yourself up towards this way please let me know. I will be learning all the waters on the upper Joe this spring and summer.
