Kisaralik Alaska - finally some pics! :pic: 17 Years, 2 Months ago
I have been wanting to post some of the pictures from the Alaska Kisaralik trip but I haven't had much of a chance since I got back. I finally was able to upload some of the pictures tonight. It was a great time and the fishing was fantastic. The rainbows were the biggest I have ever seen that have come out of a river on a consistent basis. The fishing and good weather really helped after the rocky start with the plane crash on the lake. Everyone was ok - but it really made for some tense moments.

Anyway - I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...had a great time.

ps - more pictures will be posted later! - there are more and better pics to follow.

Excellent report!
BTW, when did you have time to put this together with all the board action this evening? Nice work, more Karma!

Great pics. That glassy lake picture is amazing. I think I would call it more of a mirror lake. You could almost turn it over and trim the land off of it and I bet know one would know.

The glassy lake conditions probably caused the crash - the pilot had a hard time figuring out where the lake was.

Great Pics Greg. Fantastic fish. I must admit that I have always been a bit of an airplane enthusiast. I got hooked early on as my dad was a WWII pilot and we always had planes in the family when I was growing up. When I lived in AK, the Beaver became one of my favorites. I logged many hours (as a passenger). The Beaver was our primary means of transportation to the field.

It was obvious that the owner of that Beaver had a great deal of pride in his aircraft from the fancy Army paint. I can assure you that most AK busk planes don't look anything like that! What a shame to see it upside down in the lake. But the main thing is that no one was hurt and you still had a very nice trip. I bet that is one that will not be forgotten anytime soon!

And by the way.....Outstanding job on the new Board format. It appears to be catching on very fast. Success!

Feather Fisher,

That is allegedly the original Army paint job. They bought it out of a museum and put it back in service. One week after the crash, they FLEW it off the lake and down to Anchorage!!!!

Great Plane...
