Hey Charlie - do you have "Google Accelerator" installed? If you do - get rid of it. I recently found a problem while using it.


Go to (lower left corner of screen) Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs and look for Google Accelerator. Once it's removed the login process should be easier. I don't think you need to do this - but after uninstalling it, go to (this assumes you are using Internet Explorer 7.x) Tools->Internet Options and select Connections. Click on "LAN Setings". Then click the box for "Automatically Detect Settings" and save it.
